Dog Jog

Filed under: Reflections — ktismatics @ 9:40 am

Here’s something I’d never seen before: a woman and her seeing-eye dog out for a run.

After we passed each other I turned to watch their approach to the next intersection. The dog looked around and behind, presumably checking traffic (there was none), then the two of them proceeded across the road without slowing down.

  1. Impressive.

  2. If I was blind I’d be very wary, while self-locomoting, of taking both feet off the ground at the same time.

    • I am sure that a blind runner must encounter more falls, scrapes, bruises, cuts, and broken bones. A person would have to be pretty tough to go for blind runs. I think it would take a good deal of courage…..I’d like to talk to someone who is blind and still runs. I’ll bet they are one hell of an interesting person.

  3. Evidently she isn’t the only blind runner: here’s another.
