Travelling by Monk, 2000

Filed under: Reflections — ktismatics @ 10:34 am

I was writing in my notebook about a Procession, assembling itself person by person, moving slowly through a beplagued medieval Europe and perhaps into the future as well, straddling the Apocalypse, when this piece came on the internet radio.

  1. I enjoy how this post articulates imaginatively with the next one, as I envision riding from town to town on the shoulders of self-flagellating medieval monks with this eerie soundtrack in the background. The tricky part would be to stay out of the arc of the whip.

  2. Yes, travelling by monk. Maybe the occasional sting of the whip gets that vibrato really quavering.
