what interests me is why the hand is barren in picture 2, could you discreetly ask the artists what she meant to say? watching madonna’s new clip with timberlake, four minutes, there’s a similar ploy. is this related to deleuze?

She says it’s based on the song and video “Miss Murder” by AFI. Note the last scene of the video, in which Miss Murder reaches out her hand and touches the lead singer.
The chorus of the song: “Hey Miss Murder can I make beauty stay if I take my life?” The last verse:
We’re the empty set just floating through, wrapped in skin
Ever searching for what we were promised.
Reaching for that golden ring we’d never let go,
but who would ever let us put put our filthy hands upon it?

that’s the same as fashion, so the dept. you’d be looking for at the university is fashion design, with maybe some additional courses in media theory to get the point that costumes tell stories, the semiotics drill

Right. What she really has in mind is directing. She says she’s always imagining movies, and that some of these drawings constitute screen shots from the movies playing in her head. So we’ll if these imaginings and aspirations persist.
