Change of Scenery

Filed under: Reflections — ktismatics @ 5:16 pm

A week ago, ten minutes out my front door I’d be strolling along a topless beach on the Riviera. Those same ten minutes today and I’m walking through the middle of a prairie dog town being dive-bombed by a redwing blackbird.

  2. Odile –

We won’t have that (slightly dirty) rug to look at as part of our American scenery — we sold it! Perhaps this bodes well for your sale. Are you still living in the village, or have you moved and left the house empty?

  3. Can we sort of switch? Can I go stroll where you were strolling a week ago, lol? And how about if you stroll a week ago where I am strolling now, eing stink bombed by a monstrous yellow-winged smog bird?

  5. Our house is in a small village and for sale, but not empty. In the garden apple trees and grapes , figs that we will miss. In Netherlands this amount of space is uncommon. It will be difficult to find the same thing elsewhere. We’re still living here, which is tricky because my oldest daughter is starting school in september. She will be staying at friends whose children will go to the same school. I’ve found some houses there that fit on many aspects.
Maybe you want to try living here, Jason? how about a sabatical?
I really dislike my materialistic self. Much of my energy goes into resistance. Any advice for that, Ktismatics?
